prof. Vincenzo Torretta, University of Insubria, IT
Vincenzo Torretta is full professor of Sanitary and Environmental Engineering at the University of Insubria in Varese. Since 2021, he has been Deputy Director of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Sciences. He serves as an Editor for several international journals in the field of environmental engineering and has organized numerous conferences, both nationally and internationally. His research interests include energy recovery from biomass and waste, treatment of gaseous effluents using chemical-physical and biological processes, environmental and safety modeling, new technologies for wastewater treatment, reuse of solid waste materials, and solid waste management and treatment.
prof. Elisabetta Sieni, University of Insubria, IT
Elisabetta Sieni was an assistant professor in electrotechnics at University of Padova and taught at the Photovoltaic Technologies and Electrotechnics Laboratory. Currently, she is associate professor in electrotechnics at University of Insubria. Her research interests includes the numerical modelization of electric devices for industrial application, the design of biomedical applications of electromagnetic fields, the development of optimization algorithms, and electrochemical treatment for water sanitation.
dr. eng. Marco Carnevale Miino, University of Insubria, IT
Marco Carnevale Miino received his PhD in Design, Modeling and Simulation in Engineering from the University of Pavia. He worked at the Brno University of Technology studying the presence of emerging contaminants in wastewater and reuse of biochar from sewage sludge in blue-green infrastructures. He is currently Postdoc at the University of Insubria and his research is mainly focused on emerging contaminants in water, wastewater treatment, and Life Cycle Assessment.
prof. Ioannis Katsoyiannis, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, GR
Ioannis Katsoyiannis is full professor of Environmental Technology at the Department of Chemistry of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He is the President of the Association of Greek Chemists and of the Hellenic Industrial Property Academy and member of the administrative council of the Hellenic Industrial Property Organization. He is an expert in water and wastewater treatment technologies, water reuse and circular economy. He was recipient of prestigious international fellowhsips, such as from Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD), the Swiss Science National Foundation and he received a Marie Curie Individual fellowship. He has conducted research at the Technical University of Berlin, Technical University of Hamburg, the ETH (Zurich) and the EPFL (Lausanne). He is scientific responsible in several research projects and has been invited more than 25 times to give lectures worldwide in international conferences and advanced schools.
